PUERTO DEL CARMEN – THE HEART OF TOURISM IN LANZAROTE
Located on the south-east coast of the island, Puerto del Carmen is Lanzarote’s main tourist destination. What was once a small fishing village has become a vibrant resort that stretches along more than six kilometres of coastline, offering golden beaches, crystal-clear waters and an atmosphere full of life.
Its main attraction is the Avenida de las Playas, a long promenade where you will find a wide variety of restaurants, shops, cafes and entertainment venues, all with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the neighboring islands.
Puerto del Carmen manages to combine modernity with tradition. The Old Town (El Varadero) still preserves the charm of typical Canarian architecture, with its small port where you can enjoy fresh fish in a more relaxed and authentic atmosphere.
With a privileged climate all year round, it is the perfect place for those seeking the sun and beach experience without giving up a complete offer of services, leisure and nightlife. It is the energetic heart of Lanzarote.

BEACHES AND ACTIVITIES IN PUERTO DEL CARMEN
The beaches of Puerto del Carmen are famous for their calm and clean waters. Playa Grande is the most iconic, with its golden sand and all the comforts. For those seeking more tranquillity, Playa Chica is a small cove ideal for diving and snorkelling, thanks to its spectacular seabed.
In addition to the sea, Puerto del Carmen offers a wide range of activities. From shopping at the Biosfera Plaza Shopping Centre to boat excursions to watch dolphins or practice water sports such as windsurfing and parasailing.
At night, the town transforms. The Avenida de las Playas is filled with music and lights, offering everything from cocktail bars to nightclubs, as well as terraces where you can enjoy the ocean breeze in a more relaxed atmosphere.
Its location is strategic for exploring the rest of the island. It is just a few minutes from the airport and halfway between the volcanic landscapes of Timanfaya and the artistic creations of César Manrique in the north.
Tip: If you like diving, don’t miss Playa Chica; it is one of the best spots in Europe for beginners and night dives. Also, try to stroll through the Old Town at sunset to enjoy the best local gastronomy with views of the fishing boats.
